Frequently Asked Questions

You will need a valid GP referral (for individual and/or group therapy) as part of a mental health treatment plan to access Medicare rebates.

No. The Medicare rebate does not cover the full module cost, so there is an out-of-pocket cost applicable.

The current Medicare rebate applicable is $46.75 per group therapy session.

Full payment of the module cost is required upon registration.

Medicare rebates can only be claimed following the completion of each group therapy session.

If you are eligible and have requested to receive services under Medicare, Get Psych'd will submit the claim on your behalf with Medicare. Yes. NDIS participants may be eligible to participate in the GPS group program under the NDIS where they have Capacity Building funding available for therapeutic support/psychology.

Each module of the GPS group program is offered as a "Program of Support" in accordance with the NDIS Pricing Arrangements and Price Limits.

NDIS participants will be required to enter into a NDIS Service Agreement for participation in a/each module/s (separately), prior to the commencement of a GPS group program module. The NDIS Service Agreement will outline the specific terms and conditions applicable.

No. Due to NDIS funding arrangements and "Program of Support" rules, in accordance with the NDIS Pricing Arrangements and Price Limits, not all costs for participation in the GPS group program are covered by the NDIS. As such there is an additional per module participant cost allocated, referred to as the Participant Contribution.

This cost covers the purchase of program specific resources, such as program materials, technology (apps) and general activity resources. The Participant Contribution amount will be specified in the NDIS Service Agreement.

Funding is available for participation in the GPS group program, subject to eligibility criteria, through the Melbourne City Mission - Family Reconciliation Mediation Program (MCM-FRMP) for young people, aged 16 - 25, who are homeless or at risk of homelessness.
