Frequently Asked Questions

Your initial appointment is an opportunity for you to meet with your psychologist one-to-one. Your psychologist will get to know you and understand your concerns. We will come up with a care plan to help you reach your goals for what you would like to achieve during your time with us at Get Psych'd.

Our appointments are 50 minutes for a standard consultation. The number and frequency of appointments will vary depending on the young person. Factors that influence this are the nature and complexity of the young person's presenting concerns, and what they're wanting to get out it.

We tailor our therapy to the individual needs and preferences of each teen or young adult.

All information discussed in session with your psychologist is private and confidential. There are exceptions to this rule:

  1. If you provide us with consent to share your information with another person or organisation for a specific reason,
  2. If you are at risk of harm to yourself or someone else,
  3. If we learn that there is harm to a child or older adult, or
  4. If required in relation to court orders.
